Shima Zarrei was born in 1989 in Iran. She graduated from Art High-School in Tehran and Karaj Designer’s Art College. Later, she continued her education in Graphic design at the Shariati University hold in Tehran. Al-Zahra was a university in Tehran which she decided to do her Master in painting. She lives and works in Tehran where she was worked as the Art Director at Puyesh and Jarf’Andishan Publishing company. Also, she worked as an illustrator at the Ghanun-Bacheha Magazine and Baran Magazine. She has illustrated a number of children books and designed more than 50 Children’s Book Covers and Book Jacket Covers. She now works for Voodoo Lily Children’s Book Publishing Company in Norway.

Shima is unique in her artworks due to the figures in her amusing illustrations are posted in unexpected ways which figures reflected a mixture of cultures, all viewers would find something familiar to their own background, a western item mixed with something more distant, somewhere like in the east. Her artworks capture a new impact of multiculturalism on art.
